Boardwalk Entertainment is more than just an event company. It is a passion project built by husband and wife duo Shawn and Carolyn Cox. With over 35 years of combined experience, they have dedicated their careers to creating unforgettable moments through music, entertainment, and personalized event services.

Their story began in 2008 while working together at The Chrysler Museum of Art. What started as a shared love of events led to their own dream wedding and ultimately a partnership that has helped countless couples, businesses, and partygoers bring their celebrations to life.

 

Whether it is Shawn’s expert DJ and emcee skills, Boardwalk Entertainment’s award winning photo booths and lighting design, or Carolyn’s planning and coordinating services through Carolyn Celeste Weddings, everything they do is rooted in care, experience, and attention to detail.​

Shawn has been spinning records and filling dance floors in Hampton Roads since 1989. Known for his personal touch and exceptional customer service, he has built a reputation as a go to DJ for weddings and special events throughout Coastal Virginia. Spotting a gap in the market, Shawn & Carolyn introduced photo booth rentals to the area in 2009, blending music and memories in a unique way. Shawn is available for select DJ bookings through 2027, ensuring every wedding or special event is a dance and photo-filled celebration.​

Carolyn is the owner of Carolyn Celeste Weddings, a beloved wedding coordinating service based in Hampton Roads. Her calm approach, relaxed presence, and attention to detail have earned her a stellar reputation among couples and venues alike.

A preferred coordinator at venues such as The Chrysler Museum of Art and Virginia MOCA, Carolyn specializes in seamless and stress free wedding days with just the right balance of organization, warmth, and her signature Virginia charm.
